News and stories
What has changed, what has not, and who is doing something about it.
Updates from Call to Freedom: programme news, legislative movement, community events, and stories survivors have chosen to tell.

Updates go out first on social media, and longer pieces follow here.
About survivor stories
Some of the most-read pieces on this site are written by survivors. Every one of them is published because the person chose to publish it, reviewed it before it went out, and can ask for it to come down at any time.
We do not solicit stories to use as fundraising material, and we do not publish anything about a person who has not asked for it to be published.
If you are a survivor and you want to tell your story, call 605-261-1880. There is no obligation and no deadline, and you can change your mind at any point, including after publication.
For journalists
If you are covering trafficking in South Dakota, the press and media kit has the facts, our boundaries on survivor privacy, and guidance on language.
Follow along
The fastest way to keep up is social media, where events, legislative news and programme updates go out first.
The stories are the reason any of this is funded.
Every one of them belongs to the person who told it, and every one of them can be withdrawn at any time.
